XVI International TransNet Conference: Backbone Communication Networks

On March 12-13, 2025, the NTEC team in Moscow traditionally took part in the largest event dedicated to the development of transport telecommunications networks in Russia and Eurasia - the XVI International TransNet Conference: backbone communication networks.
Alyaksey Tsymbalau, Director of the state-owned enterprise National Traffic Exchange Center, in the opening plenary discussion "Prospects for the development of backbone communication networks in the CIS" and the plenary session "Development of telecom infrastructure: innovative technologies and new opportunities," noted the trends in the communications market, taking into account economic and geopolitical features and current advantages of transit through the Republic of Belarus and in the plenary session he made a report "Realities and prospects of building trans-Eurasian trunk lines through Belarus" with a presentation demonstration of the historical record of transit growth through Belarus, highlighted the successes in the development of the transport network, paying special attention to the construction of new, straightened and highly reliable optical communication lines, with the construction of new technological routes with optimization of technical solutions.

It is also necessary to note the forum session updated taking into account the current trend in the growth of foreign Internet traffic: "The role of CDNs, content providers and traffic exchange points in the backbone market." In order to attract the attention of Russian providers for placing CDN servers at the NTEC site, taking into account the geographical, technological and geopolitical advantages of the Republic of Belarus, Deputy Director Vitali Karbovski brought the topic to the audience: "Integration of the CDN and transit channels of Belarus into the Eurasian backbone market," which aroused interest and active discussion of Russian colleagues in organizing channels through Belarus to connect to traffic exchange points in Europe, in particular in Warsaw, as well as connecting to the CDN NTEC in Minsk to optimize the cost of forming a fully connected Internet in their networks in the Russian Federation.
