On June 23-26, the IV International Night Telecom Forum (INTF) was held in St. Petersburg - a unique event that brings together telecom industry experts, representatives of data centers and international IT and information security specialists. The republican unitary enterprise "National Traffic Exchange Center" (NTEC) acted as a partner of the forum and took an active part in the business program.
Vitaly Karbovsky, Deputy Director of the NTEC, made a presentation on the role of the Republic of Belarus in building trunk communication lines between Asia and Europe at the session "Interregional Operator Interaction in the CIS, Central Asia and the Russian Federation Markets". Vitaly Karbovsky stressed that the Republic of Belarus occupies a unique central place in the construction of trunk communication lines between Asia and Europe. Thanks to NTEC's well-developed infrastructure and obviously favorable geographical location, the country acts as a reliable, high-speed and secure bridge for global traffic exchange.
Technological advantages and success factors of NTEC
- Decision-making speed: The NTEC team's high level of professionalism makes it possible to quickly organize transit channels in the shortest possible time.
- Stable network: backup and optimal routes guarantee uninterrupted data transfer.
- Minimum delay: Frankfurt-Moscow premium delay is only 28.5 ms.
- Compatibility with any vendor: backbone networks are built on modern equipment (Huawei, Ciena, Ekinops, Nokia, Infinera, etc.).
How NTEC highways are changing the Global transit map
During the session, issues of building new, straightened and highly reliable optical communication lines, building unique transit routes with optimization of technical and engineering solutions were discussed. Separately, key trends in the development of the telecommunications services market were highlighted, taking into account the influence of current economic and geopolitical factors.
Particular attention was paid to the current competitive advantages of traffic transit through the Republic of Belarus. The technological and economic features of two highways of 12.8 Tbit/s each on the route Moscow - Minsk - Frankfurt am Main aroused keen interest among the session participants. These projects were implemented and put into operation by NTEC together with Russian partners in 2025. The prospects for the projects are obvious: international transit is now actively shifting from the "northern" route to a more profitable Belarusian direction.
In addition, experts noted the ability of NTEC to flexibly respond to market conditions, which gave rise to a multiple increase in orders for transit from Asia to Europe through the infrastructure of the National Traffic Exchange Center.
Participation in the International Night Telecom Forum confirmed NTEC's readiness for an open dialogue with telecom operators of any scale. The event made it possible to strengthen existing business ties and lay the foundation for new mutually beneficial contracts in the field of passing international data traffic.
