NTEC organized the first large-scale cybersecurity training for the healthcare sector

The Republican Unitary Enterprise "National Traffic Exchange Center" (NTEC), in collaboration with the Healthcare Committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee, successfully conducted a large-scale cybersecurity training program for healthcare professionals. More than 130 doctors, administrators, and IT specialists from 119 medical institutions in Minsk successfully completed the course, which aimed to enhance digital literacy within the healthcare sector.
The primary goal of the week-long intensive course was to instill robust cyber-hygiene habits in staff members who handle confidential information and patients' personal data on a daily basis. During the lectures and practical sessions, participants studied methods for countering social engineering, rules for identifying phishing emails, and procedures for protecting workstations against malicious software. NTEC experts paid special attention to the specifics of ensuring security within the internal networks of medical institutions, where thousands of personal computers operate and vast amounts of confidential medical data are processed.

The training program developed by NTEC experts has been fully tailored to address current challenges and the specific nature of the industry. The curriculum is based on modern training methodologies from the NTEC "ROZUM" International Education Center and the unique practical expertise of the NTEC Cybersecurity Center.
As Vitaly Karbovsky, Deputy Director of NTEC, told an STV correspondent:
— Our programs are based on the experience of the cyber center, the first of its kind in the country. All current threats and incidents pass through us and form the foundation of our courses and educational platform.
Thanks to this approach, NTEC has provided medical professionals with a unique opportunity to conduct a detailed analysis of real-world incidents and network threats facing domestic enterprises.

The practical component of the course included an introduction to modern information security tools. Participants were presented with the "SecVirt" virtualization platform, "S-Terra Bel" cryptographic protection tools, and other specialized software products, including proprietary solutions developed by NTEC.
A dedicated multi-hour session was devoted to the "NTechnology SIEM" information security incident monitoring and management system. The course instructors provided the audience with a detailed overview of the SIEM system's architecture and purpose, and also conducted a practical demonstration of the product in action. Medical personnel were shown how the system aggregates security events from various sources in real time, detects anomalous activity, and enables the rapid containment of potential threats before they can damage the infrastructure.
The technology segment concluded with the presentation of another flagship project from NTEC: the "CyberRing" cyber range. Attendees were introduced to the platform's capabilities for simulating complex cyberattacks and conducting hands-on cyber exercises. An introduction to the domestic cyber range clearly demonstrated how technical specialists undergo training in conditions that closely simulate real-world incidents, enabling organizations to continuously enhance their overall level of cyber immunity.
The training program concluded with a final assessment, based on the results of which the specialists were awarded state-recognized certificates of advanced training.

The completed courses marked a significant step toward establishing a comprehensive information security system within the social sector. Moving forward, NTEC plans to extend this experience to other strategic industries in the Republic of Belarus, systematically fostering the technological maturity of the country's key economic sectors.
